Ingrid Michaelson

Ingrid Michaelson is an American indie pop singer-songwriter, born on 8 December 1979 and based in New York. She began her recording career independently, releasing her debut album Slow the Rain in 2005 before gaining wider recognition through the placement of her songs in television shows, which helped build a devoted grassroots fanbase in the mid-2000s.

Her breakthrough came with the album Girls and Boys and the single «The Way I Am», which became one of her signature songs and reached the Billboard Hot 100. She followed this with further acclaimed releases including Be OK, Everybody, Human Again and Lights Out, expanding her catalog with songs like «Girls Chase Boys», «You and I» and «Keep Breathing». Her sound blends breezy, melodic indie pop with folk and singer-songwriter sensibilities, often built around ukulele, piano and warm, close-harmony vocals.
