About the artist
Indila is the stage name of Adila Sedraïa, a French singer and songwriter born on 26 June 1984. Before launching her solo career she worked behind the scenes, lending vocals and songwriting to other artists, which gave her a strong grounding in melody and production before she stepped into the spotlight herself.
She broke through in December 2013 with the single «Dernière danse», a sweeping, string-laden pop ballad sung in French that became a massive hit across Europe and beyond, reaching the top of the French charts. The song's blend of orchestral pop, subtle R&B phrasing and emotional, dramatic delivery became the blueprint for her sound. It was followed in February 2014 by her debut album Mini World, which further explored themes of longing, resilience and inner strength through songs like «Tourner Dans Le Vide» and the title track.
Indila's music stands out in the French pop landscape for its cinematic arrangements, use of strings and world-music textures, and her distinctive, slightly husky vocal tone. Despite releasing only one full-length album, she has remained a significant and influential figure in francophone pop, admired for her introspective lyrics and the emotional weight she brings to every performance.
