Himesh Reshammiya

Himesh Reshammiya is an Indian playback singer, music director, songwriter, and actor from Mumbai. Born into a musical family — his father Vipin Reshammiya was a film music director — Himesh was drawn to composing from an early age, first writing for Zee TV serials before breaking into Bollywood.

His breakthrough came when Salman Khan gave him the chance to compose for Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya (1998), producing two hit tracks that put him on the map. He went on to become one of Hindi cinema's most prolific music directors through the 2000s, known for his distinctive nasal singing style and melodramatic, hook-driven pop-rock compositions, winning acclaim for scores like Tere Naam and Aitraaz. He later expanded into playback singing and acting, becoming a recognizable on-screen presence as well.

Songs like «Yahi Hota Pyaar», «Aashiq Banaya Aapne», and «Aap Ki Khatir» showcase his signature blend of emotional Bollywood balladry with rock-influenced arrangements, a sound that made him one of the defining voices of Indian film music in that era.
