About the artist
Highasakite is a Norwegian band that emerged from the indie pop and indie rock scene, formed around vocalist Ingrid Helene Håvik and drummer Trond Bersu. Over the years the lineup expanded to a quintet with the addition of Marte Eberson and Øystein Skar on synthesizers and keys and Kristoffer Lo on guitar, percussion and flugabone, before the project eventually returned to its original duo core.
The band built its reputation on Håvik's distinctive, soaring vocals paired with lush, atmospheric synth-driven arrangements, a sound that helped them break through internationally in the mid-2010s, particularly across Scandinavia and continental Europe. Songs such as «Golden Ticket», «Someone Who'll Get It» and «Can I Be Forgiven» showcase the band's blend of dreamy pop textures with darker, more introspective lyrical undertones, while tracks like «Lover, Where Do You Live?» and «Out of Order» highlight their knack for widescreen, emotionally charged songwriting.
Highasakite is regarded as one of the notable acts to come out of the Norwegian indie scene in the 2010s, known for melding pop accessibility with more experimental, textured production choices.
