Hey Violet

Hey Violet is an American alternative pop band from Los Angeles formed around sisters Rena Lovelis (bass, lead vocals) and Nia Lovelis (drums, vocals), joined by guitarist Casey Moreta. The group traces its roots to Cherri Bomb, an all-female hard rock band the Lovelis sisters formed with other members, which released the 2012 album This Is The End Of Control before Moreta joined and the band was rebranded as Hey Violet in early 2015.

With the new name came a shift toward polished, hook-driven pop-rock, marked by the single «This Is Why» and a signing to 5 Seconds of Summer's label Hi or Hey Records in partnership with Capitol Records. The band released the EPs I Can Feel It and Brand New Moves, and toured extensively as support for 5 Seconds of Summer, building a young, engaged fanbase around anthemic, radio-friendly songs.

Hey Violet went on to release singles such as «Guys My Age», «O.D.D.» and «Break My Heart», blending pop hooks with rock instrumentation and candid lyrics about relationships and identity. The band underwent lineup changes over the years while continuing to record, with tracks like «Hoodie» and «Like Lovers Do» reflecting their evolving sound within the alt-pop landscape.
