Heritage Singers

The Heritage Singers are an American Christian vocal group founded in 1971 by Max and Lucy Mace, based in Placerville, California, and closely associated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Rather than a fixed lineup, the group operates as an evolving ensemble of roughly seven to ten singers at a time, with more than 250 vocalists having passed through its ranks over the decades.

Their repertoire spans a wide range of Christian music styles, from a cappella arrangements and southern gospel to contemporary praise and worship and even Latin-tinged numbers, reflecting a broad appeal across generations of listeners. Songs like «Side By Side», «Come Holy Spirit» and «Jesus Is the Lighthouse» are representative of the warm, harmony-driven sound the group is known for.

Over more than fifty years of activity, the Heritage Singers have toured extensively, performing in all fifty US states and over sixty-five countries, and have released more than one hundred albums along with over two hundred television programs. Their longevity and constantly refreshed membership have made them a fixture of American gospel music and a touchstone within Adventist worship traditions.
