HENRY LAU (헨리)

Henry Lau, known mononymously as Henry, is a Chinese-Canadian singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer and actor, born October 11, 1989. He first gained fame as a member of the Chinese-language K-pop subunit Super Junior-M, debuting in 2007, where he was known for his violin and piano skills alongside his rapping and dancing. His virtuosity on strings, often showcased live and in music videos, set him apart from typical idol performers.

In June 2013 Henry launched his solo career with the EP «Trap», blending pop, R&B and hip-hop with his classical training, and the release performed strongly on South Korea's Gaon Album Chart. He continued releasing English, Korean and Mandarin versions of songs such as «Monster» and «It's You», reflecting his cross-market appeal across Asia and North America.

After leaving SM Entertainment in 2018 when his contract expired, Henry founded his own creative outfit, Henry Workshop, and later joined Monster Entertainment Group, signing with the label AXIS. Beyond music, he has built a career composing for other artists and television dramas, and has appeared in film and variety shows, cementing his reputation as a versatile multi-hyphenate performer.
