Hallo aus Berlin

Hallo aus Berlin (Hello from Berlin) is a British educational television series produced jointly by the BBC and the Goethe-Institut, designed to teach beginner German to learners aged 11 to 14. Presented in a magazine-style format, it mixes short reports, interviews, songs and animated sequences to make grammar and vocabulary approachable for young audiences. Its ten episodes first aired on 19 September 1996.

Songs like «Was Ist Dein Lieblingsfach?», «In Meiner Familie», «Wann Hast Du Geburtstag?» and the title theme «Hallo Aus Berlin» were written as memorable, simple sing-alongs reinforcing everyday vocabulary — school subjects, family members, birthdays, numbers — through repetition and melody, a common technique in language-learning media of the era.
