HAIM

HAIM is a rock band from Los Angeles formed by sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim, whose name derives from the Hebrew word for life. Raised in a musical family that performed together as a cover band before the sisters struck out on their own, they built a sound blending classic rock songwriting with nineties R&B textures and folk-rock harmony, often compared to the influence of artists like Fleetwood Mac alongside contemporary pop production.

Their 2013 debut album, Days Are Gone, brought them wide attention, including a prominent set at Glastonbury and a placement on the BBC's Sound of 2013 poll, and led to a deal with Jay-Z's Roc Nation management. The album's singles, including «The Wire» and «Falling», showcased tight sibling harmonies over polished, guitar-driven pop-rock arrangements. They followed with Something to Tell You in 2017, continuing to refine their blend of retro influences and modern songwriting.

Their third album, Women in Music Pt. III, released in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic, marked a critical high point for the band, earning them their first Grammy nomination for Album of the Year and cementing their reputation as one of the most acclaimed sister-led rock acts of their generation.
