Haddaway

Haddaway is a singer best known for his 1993 Eurodance anthem «What Is Love», a song whose insistent hook became one of the defining sounds of early-90s club music and later achieved renewed fame through its recurring use in a Saturday Night Live sketch that inspired the film A Night at the Roxbury. Born in Trinidad and raised in Cologne, Germany, he emerged from the German Eurodance scene at a time when producers were fusing house rhythms with pop songwriting for mainstream club audiences.

His debut album, Haddaway – The Album, launched several hits beyond its title track, including «What About Me» and «I Miss You», cementing his place among the era's most recognizable Eurodance voices. He continued releasing material through the rest of the 1990s, including The Drive in 1996 and Let's Do It Now in 1998, though neither matched the commercial impact of his debut.
