About the artist
Гости из будущего (Guests from the Future) is a Russian pop group from Saint Petersburg, founded in the mid-1990s. The project began with roots in electronic dance styles such as jungle and drum and bass before shifting decisively toward mainstream pop, becoming one of the more recognizable Russian pop acts of the 2000s.
The group's defining lineup paired composer Yuri Usachev with vocalist and lyricist Eva Polna, whose expressive delivery became the project's signature. Their songs combined polished, radio-friendly pop production with emotionally direct lyrics about love and heartbreak, exemplified by tracks like «Беги от меня», «Нелюбовь» and «Люби меня по-французски». This combination of accessible melody and heartfelt themes helped the group maintain consistent popularity on Russian pop radio and television throughout the 2000s.
Eva Polna's voice and stage presence made her the public face of the project, and after the group's activity wound down she went on to pursue a solo career. Гости из будущего remain remembered as a defining act of the Russian pop landscape of that era, bridging the country's dance-music scene of the late 1990s with its more polished pop mainstream of the following decade.
