Gruppa Skryptonite

Gruppa Skryptonite is a musical project led by Adayar «Скриптонит» Nurtas, a Kazakhstani-Russian artist who was already one of the most influential figures in post-Soviet rap before launching this new chapter. In late 2017 he announced he was stepping away from rap, feeling he had said what he needed to in that genre, and in August 2018 the Gruppa Skryptonite project emerged as a broader continuation of his artistry — moving toward melodic pop, R&B, and alternative sounds rather than straightforward rap verses.

The project's debut EP, «Solitude», arrived in April 2019 and established the group's introspective, atmospheric tone, built on Skriptonit's distinctive production and moody vocal delivery. Since then the collective has continued to evolve its sound across releases, incorporating rock and electronic textures alongside pop and R&B, while retaining the dark, hypnotic quality that made Skriptonit's earlier work so influential.

Tracks such as «3x3», «Podruga» and «КПСП» reflect this genre-blending approach, and the project has also featured collaborations with other Russian-language artists, extending its reach across the wider Russian-speaking music scene. Gruppa Skryptonite remains one of the more unpredictable and closely watched acts to emerge from that scene in recent years.
