Grupo Frontera

Grupo Frontera is a six-piece Regional Mexican group from the Rio Grande Valley area of South Texas. The members — Adelaido «Payo» Solís III, Julian Peña Jr., Alberto Acosta, Carlos Zamora, Carlos Guerrero and Juan Javier Cantu — had been friends for years before formally joining forces in 2022. Their sound blends traditional cumbia and norteño instrumentation, accordion-driven arrangements and modern pop sensibilities, which helped them cross over far beyond the usual Regional Mexican audience.

The group's breakthrough came via social media, when their cover of «No Se Va» went viral on TikTok, propelling them from local bar gigs to international stages within months. That momentum carried into collaborations with major Latin pop and regional artists, most notably the Bad Bunny duet «un x100to», which became a massive global hit and introduced Grupo Frontera to listeners well outside the genre's traditional base.

Songs like «EL AMOR DE SU VIDA», «Hecha Pa' Mi» and «ÁNGEL» showcase the band's knack for romantic, danceable norteño-cumbia that resonates with both older fans of the genre and a younger, TikTok-native audience. Grupo Frontera is now regarded as one of the defining acts in the recent resurgence of Regional Mexican music on the global stage.
