Griff

Griff, born Sarah Faith Griffiths on 21 January 2001, is a British singer-songwriter and producer from Kings Langley, near London. Raised on gospel and soul artists such as Stevie Wonder, Mary J. Blige and Mary Mary, she began writing and producing her own music while still at school, teaching herself production tools rather than relying on outside collaborators, which gave her music an unusually self-contained, hands-on character from the start.

After signing to Warner Records she released early singles including «Mirror Talk», «Paradise» and «Didn’t Break It Enough», gathered on The Mirror Talk EP in 2019, and won the BRITs Rising Star award in 2021, the same year she released her debut mixtape One Foot in Front of the Other. Her sound blends glossy synth-pop production with soulful vocal phrasing and emotionally direct songwriting, placing her alongside a wave of UK pop artists who write and shape their own records rather than working purely as vocalists for hire.

Her debut album Vertigo was released gradually in volumes — vert1go vol. 1 in October 2023 and ver2igo vol. 2 in April 2024 — before the full album arrived in July 2024, featuring songs like «Vertigo», «Black Hole» and «Astronaut». The rollout format itself became part of her artistic identity, letting fans watch the record take shape piece by piece.
