Glass Animals

Glass Animals are an English indie band formed in Oxford, fronted by singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Bayley alongside guitarist Drew MacFarlane, bassist Edmund Irwin-Singer and drummer Joe Seaward. The band emerged in the early 2010s with a lush, psychedelic take on indie pop, layering warped samples, tropical percussion and Bayley's falsetto-tinged vocals over dense, atmospheric production, drawing early comparisons to acts blending electronic textures with organic songwriting.

Their early records, including tracks like «Gooey» and «Pork Soda», built a devoted following through vivid, character-driven lyrics and a sound that felt both intimate and sprawling. The band's sonic identity deepened across subsequent releases such as «Life Itself», «The Other Side of Paradise» and «Youth», refining a signature blend of bedroom-pop intimacy and maximalist production.

Glass Animals achieved global crossover success with «Heat Waves», a slow-burning single that became a defining pop-adjacent hit years after its release, introducing the band's genre-blurring sound to a vastly wider audience.
