Glasperlenspiel

Glasperlenspiel is a German electropop duo formed in 2003, consisting of vocalist Carolin Niemczyk and singer-keyboardist Daniel Grunenberg, who have also been a couple since 2006. The group's name, referencing Hermann Hesse's novel «Das Glasperlenspiel», hints at their layered, meticulously crafted approach to pop songwriting, blending glossy electronic production with heartfelt German-language lyrics.

The duo broke through by winning the Radio ENERGY Newcomer Contest with their song «Versinke» in January 2010, which led to their first record deal and launched their career in the German pop scene. They further raised their profile with a fourth-place finish at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2011 representing Baden-Württemberg with «Echt», cementing their reputation as a rising force in German-language electropop.

Over the years, Glasperlenspiel has built a catalog of anthemic, emotionally direct singles such as «Geiles Leben», «Royals & Kings», «Nie vergessen» and «Du bist», often paired with remix versions that extend their reach into club and dance contexts. Their sound sits at the intersection of pop, electronic, and rock sensibilities, marked by Niemczyk's expressive vocals and polished, radio-friendly production.
