glaive (Ash Blue Gutierrez, born January 20, 2005) is an American musician from North Carolina who became one of the defining young voices of hyperpop after his breakthrough single «astrid» in June 2020. Known for bright, glitchy production layered with emotionally raw, diaristic lyrics and a distinctive high-pitched vocal delivery, he helped push hyperpop out of niche internet circles and into wider recognition.

Before adopting the glaive name, he released music under the alias hellgoose starting around 2018, and his early growth was closely tied to producer and collaborator kurtains, with whom he worked extensively through 2019 and 2020. The glaive moniker itself is a reference to Dark Souls III. Tracks like «heather», «astrid» and «as if» showcase the sugary, maximalist hyperpop sound that first built his audience.

Over time glaive's music has shifted away from straightforward hyperpop toward a more expansive, guitar-driven and even folk-pop-influenced sound, a pivot reflected in songs such as «Asheville», «three wheels and it still drives!» and «For God and Country». Despite the stylistic evolution, his songwriting has remained centered on candid emotional storytelling, keeping him a distinctive figure across pop, rap, electronic and rock-leaning corners of internet music.
