GIGI

Gigi is a long-running Indonesian rock band formed in the mid-1990s, fronted by singer Armand Maulana and built around a core lineup with keyboardist/producer Dewa Budjana in its early years, later evolving through several member changes. The group became one of the most durable acts in Indonesian pop-rock, known for blending polished rock arrangements with mainstream pop sensibilities and Armand's powerful, expressive vocals.

Hits such as «11 Januari», «Nakal» and «Andai» helped define Indonesian radio and television in the late 1990s and 2000s, and the band balanced romantic ballads with harder rock material across a long string of studio albums. Their sound drew on Western rock influences while staying rooted in Indonesian-language songwriting, giving them broad crossover appeal across generations of listeners.

Over several decades Gigi has remained a fixture of the Indonesian music scene, adapting to changing trends while keeping its core rock identity, and its catalog is still widely streamed and performed live today.
