Gente de Zona

Gente de Zona is a Cuban duo formed in Havana in 2000 by Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom, blending reggaeton with son, timba and other Afro-Cuban rhythms into a style often called cubaton. The group built a loyal following on the island before breaking through internationally in the mid-2010s, becoming one of the most recognizable acts to bring Cuban urban music to a global Latin pop audience.

Their biggest breakthrough came through collaborations, most notably «Bailando» with Enrique Iglesias and Descemer Bueno, which became a worldwide hit and introduced their sound to millions of new listeners. They followed with further crossover successes such as «La Gozadera» alongside Marc Anthony, cementing their reputation for high-energy, party-driven anthems built around call-and-response hooks and dense percussion.

Gente de Zona's catalogue mixes romantic tracks like «Tu y Yo» with club-oriented cuts such as «Que Tú Quieres» and «Ponte Bonita», showing their range across reggaeton, Latin pop and traditional Cuban dance music. Their success helped open doors for other Cuban artists in the reggaeton and Latin urban scenes internationally.
