GAWVI

GAWVI, born Gabriel Azucena, is an American singer, songwriter, and producer who rose to prominence within the Reach Records roster, the Christian hip-hop label founded by Lecrae. He began as a producer in the late 2000s, shaping the sound of artists like Lecrae and Trip Lee before stepping into the spotlight as a solo act. His music blends trap-influenced rap with pop and R&B melodicism, often carrying a spiritual undercurrent without being confined to traditional gospel form.

After signing to Reach Records in 2016, he released the EPs «Lost In Hue» and «Holding Hue», followed by his debut full-length «We Belong» in 2017. His sophomore album «PANORAMA» arrived in 2018, spawning the single «Fight for Me», which won Best Rap/Hip-Hop Recorded Song of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards. He continued to evolve stylistically on «HEATHEN» in 2020 and the Spanish-language «Noche Juvenil» in 2021, reflecting his Latin heritage and drawing on cumbia and reggaeton textures.

GAWVI is closely associated with the Social Club Misfits and Rhema Soul, and his production catalog spans well beyond his own discography.
