Gavin James

Gavin James is an Irish singer-songwriter known for his smooth, falsetto-tinged pop-rock vocals and acoustic-guitar-driven songwriting. Raised in Dublin, he began playing guitar as a child and built his early following through regular live performances around the city.

His breakthrough came with the 2012 EP Say Hello, whose title track won Song of the Year at the Meteor Choice Music Prize and became a homegrown hit in Ireland. He later signed with Capitol Records and released the live album Live at Whelans, recorded solo with just his guitar, which charted in Ireland and the Netherlands.

James's profile grew further with the EP For You and the single «Bitter Pill», the title track of his full-length studio debut released in 2016. He has opened for major acts including Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith, and his music is defined by intimate, emotionally warm songwriting paired with a distinctive, high vocal tone.
