Gavin DeGraw

Gavin DeGraw is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, and guitarist born on February 4, 1977, in South Fallsburg, New York. He began playing piano as a child and developed a soulful, pop-rock vocal style that blends elements of blues and R&B, setting him apart from many of his singer-songwriter contemporaries.

He broke through commercially in 2003 with his debut single «I Don't Want to Be», which later became the theme song for the television series One Tree Hill, and his debut album Chariot the same year. The record's title track and «I Don't Want to Be» established him as a distinctive voice in early-2000s pop-rock.

DeGraw has continued releasing albums over the following decades, building a catalog known for emotionally direct lyrics and piano-driven arrangements, with songs like «Not Over You» and «She Sets the City on Fire» extending his presence on adult contemporary and pop radio.
