Garfunkel & Oates are an American comedy folk duo formed by actresses and comedians Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci, who perform under the stage names Garfunkel and Oates respectively — a wry nod to the fact that both halves of their namesake pairs (Simon & Garfunkel, Hall & Oates) are typically considered the lesser-known member. The duo met while both were working as actors in Los Angeles and began writing comedic songs together, accompanying themselves on guitar, ukulele and piano in a gentle, folky style that stands in deliberate contrast to their frequently crude and taboo subject matter.
