Frankie Laine

Frankie Laine was an American singer whose powerful, emotive baritone made him one of the top-selling recording artists of the 1940s and 1950s. Rising from big-band-era vocal jazz and blues roots, he became a defining voice of the pop mainstream just before rock and roll, known for dramatic delivery and an ability to move between torch songs, gospel-inflected pop, and the western-themed material that became his signature.

He is best remembered for title themes to Western films and television, including «High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me)», «Rawhide», and Mel Brooks's «Blazing Saddles», recordings that made him closely associated with the sound of American cowboy mythology even though he had no ranching background himself.
