Frances Forever is a musician and songwriter from the Boston area who emerged in the late 2010s with a lo-fi, bedroom-pop sound built on hazy synths, warm guitar tones, and intimate, conversational vocals. The project takes its name from the Mitski song «Francis Farewell Fountain» era of admiration, and it announced itself with the 2018 EP Pockets, which introduced a style blending diaristic songwriting with soft, textured production.

The breakout moment came with «space girl», a wistful, synth-lined track that spread widely online and became closely associated with a wave of internet-native bedroom pop alongside artists like Clairo and Rex Orange County.
