Flux Pavilion

Flux Pavilion is the stage name of Joshua Steele, a British record producer, DJ, and singer-songwriter who became one of the defining figures of the early-2010s dubstep and bass music scene. In 2009 he co-founded CIRCUS Records alongside childhood friend Doctor P, a label that became a key incubator for the UK dubstep sound.

His breakthrough came with the 2011 single «Bass Cannon», which climbed into the UK Singles Chart and helped push heavy, wobbling bass production toward the mainstream. Flux Pavilion’s style blends aggressive, distorted bass drops with surprisingly melodic, often pop-leaning hooks, a combination that let him move between underground dubstep and more accessible dance-pop territory.

Over the years he expanded well beyond pure dubstep, working across electronic pop and even country-tinged crossovers, with tracks like «I Can’t Stop», «Emotional», and «Do or Die» showing his range as both producer and vocalist. As a DJ and live performer he remains a fixture on festival lineups, and his catalog reflects a producer who helped shape bass music’s sound while continuing to push it into new genres.
