梁靜茹 (Fish Leong)

Fish Leong (梁靜茹) is a Malaysian-born Mandopop singer who rose to fame in Taiwan in the late 1990s and became one of the most successful female vocalists of Mandarin-language pop. Discovered and mentored early by fellow Malaysian singer-songwriter Michael Wong, she built her career on emotionally direct, radio-friendly ballads about love, longing, and everyday resilience, delivered in a warm, unforced alto that avoids melodrama in favor of intimacy.

Her catalog is dominated by love-themed ballads such as «勇氣 (Courage)», «可惜不是你 (Unfortunately Not You)», and «如果有一天 (If One Day...)», songs that became staples of karaoke rooms across Greater China and helped define the sound of mainstream Mandopop balladry for a generation. Later material, including «慢冷 (Slow to Cool Down)» and «小手拉大手 (Small Hands Pull Big Hands)», showed a shift toward gentler, more reflective songwriting as her career matured.
