Fedez, the stage name of Federico Leonardo Lucia, was born on October 15, 1989, in Milan and is one of the most prominent figures in Italian rap. He came up through the city's freestyle scene and the historic Muretto di Milano gathering spot before releasing his debut EP Pat-a-Cake in 2007, gradually building a name through independently produced mixtapes and albums in the early 2010s.

His commercial breakthrough came with the albums Sig. Brainwash and Pop-Hoolista, powered by hit singles like «Cigno Nero» and «Magnifico», which blended sharp rap wordplay with radio-friendly pop production and established him as a crossover star beyond hip-hop's core audience.
