Espinoza Paz

Espinoza Paz is a Mexican singer-songwriter and one of the most influential composers in modern regional Mexican music. Born in Sinaloa, he began his career writing songs for other artists before stepping into the spotlight himself, quickly becoming known for lyrics built around everyday heartbreak, self-deprecating humor, and plainspoken storytelling. His voice, with its distinctive nasal, slightly rough timbre, became inseparable from the sound of romantic banda and norteño ballads throughout the 2000s and 2010s.

As a songwriter, Espinoza Paz wrote hits for major banda and norteño acts before his solo career took off, and that background shaped his own catalog: tightly constructed verses, memorable hooks, and an ear for the kind of confessional line that becomes a singalong.
