Enya

Enya is an Irish composer, singer and musician born Eithne Ní Bhraonáin, celebrated for her ethereal, richly layered sound built from multitracked vocals, atmospheric synthesizers and Celtic-influenced melody. She began her career performing with the family folk group Clannad before going solo in the early 1980s, developing her signature style closely with producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan, a creative partnership that has shaped nearly all of her output.

Her breakthrough came with the album «Watermark» and its centerpiece single «Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)», which brought her lush, meditative sound to a global audience. She went on to release further landmark albums featuring songs such as «Only Time», «Caribbean Blue» and «May It Be», the latter written for the «The Lord of the Rings» film series.

Enya's music sits apart from mainstream pop and rock, occupying a space often described as new-age or Celtic, defined by her multi-layered vocal harmonies sung in English, Irish and invented languages. She remains one of Ireland's most commercially successful and internationally recognized musical artists.
