About the artist
Elliphant, the stage name of Swedish singer, songwriter and rapper Ellinor Olovsdotter, emerged from Stockholm's electronic and hip-hop scenes in the early 2010s. Her project began as a collaboration with the Swedish production duo Jungle (Estalactite and Ted Krotkiewski), whose bass-heavy, tropical-leaning production shaped her early sound — a blend of dancehall rhythms, club beats and rap-inflected vocals delivered with a raw, unpolished energy that set her apart from mainstream pop.
She built her reputation through an unusually dense run of collaborations with major EDM and dance producers, including Skrillex, Major Lazer, Yellow Claw, David Guetta and Peking Duk, lending her distinctive rasping voice to tracks that crossed between festival-ready electronic music and left-field pop. Songs like «Spoon Me» and «One More» showcased her ability to sit comfortably atop aggressive, bass-driven productions while keeping a melodic, hook-driven core.
In 2014 she signed to Dr. Luke's Kemosabe Records, releasing two EPs before her full-length debut album under that deal. Tracks such as «Purple Light», «Step Down» and «Everybody» further cemented her identity as an artist working at the intersection of pop, electronic and rap, known for bold, genre-blending production and an unapologetically brash vocal presence.
