El Chombo

El Chombo is the stage name of Rodney Sebastian Clark Donalds, a Panamanian producer, DJ, composer and voice actor born November 27, 1969 in Panama City. He rose to prominence in the local urban music scene in the late 1990s with his Reggae en Español and Dancehall productions, most notably the «Cuentos de la Cripta» album series, which blended Puerto Rican reggaeton influences with Panamanian Spanish reggae.

In the 2000s he scored major club hits with «Chacarrón Macarrón» and «El Gato Volador», novelty-leaning dance tracks built on his signature playful, percussive electronic production. His biggest global moment came later: a reworked version of his older track «Cosita», retitled «Dame Tu Cosita» and featuring Jamaican rapper Cutty Ranks, went massively viral in late 2017 and early 2018 thanks to a colorful alien-dancing YouTube video, alongside DJ Kass's «Scooby-Doo Pa Pa!».

El Chombo's sound sits at the crossroads of Latin dancehall, reggaeton and electronic pop, defined by catchy, repetitive hooks and dance-craze appeal. He remains one of Panama's most recognizable musical exports, known for turning novelty and humor into international viral hits.
