About the artist

Edison Lighthouse were an English pop group formed in London in 1969, best remembered for their breakthrough single «Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)», a bright, hook-driven slice of bubblegum pop that topped the UK charts in early 1970 and became a major hit in the United States as well. The song's success was emblematic of the late-1960s/early-1970s trend of studio-assembled pop acts fronted by session vocalists.

The band's name was inspired by the Eddystone Lighthouse off the English coast, and their lineup shifted frequently in the years following their initial hit, with lead vocalist Tony Burrows departing after their follow-up single failed to replicate the success of «Love Grows». Producer Tony Macaulay played a key role in shaping the group's sound and bringing in new members to keep the project going.

Despite the revolving-door membership typical of manufactured pop acts of the era, Edison Lighthouse toured internationally and left behind a small but enduring catalogue, with «Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)» remaining a well-known touchstone of early-70s British pop.
