Ecco2k

Ecco2k, born Zak Arogundade Gaterud, is a Swedish artist born in London and based in Stockholm, known for his work as a singer, producer, and visual artist within the Drain Gang collective (also called Gravity Boys Shield Gang). As a child he formed the punk band Krossad with his longtime friend and collaborator Bladee, and the two have remained central figures in the Stockholm underground scene that also includes Yung Lean and Sad Boys, whose ethereal, internet-born aesthetic they helped define.

Ecco2k is celebrated for a singular, otherworldly sound that blends whispery, pitched vocals with abrasive electronic textures, drawing on hyperpop, cloud rap, and experimental pop. His 2019 debut album «E», largely produced with his close collaborator Gud, showcased this fragile yet futuristic style and cemented his reputation as one of the most distinctive voices in the Drain Gang universe. Songs like «Fragile» and «Peroxide» highlight his ability to merge vulnerability with sonic experimentation.

Beyond music, Ecco2k is deeply involved in the visual side of his art, designing his own cover artwork and directing and editing his own music videos, reflecting a background rooted in graphic and fashion design. His scarcity of releases has only heightened his mystique, making each project a notable event within the Drain Gang catalog and the broader alternative scene he helped shape alongside Bladee and Thaiboy Digital.
