Ebe Dancel

Ebe Dancel is a Filipino singer-songwriter and guitarist best known as the frontman of the influential rock band Sugarfree, one of the most beloved acts of the Philippine OPM (original Pilipino music) scene until the group's split in 2011. With Sugarfree, Dancel helped define a generation's sound through introspective, melodic songwriting rooted in acoustic and alternative rock, delivering hits that became staples of Filipino pop culture.

Following the band's disbandment, Dancel launched a solo career, releasing his debut album «Dalawang Mukha ng Pag-ibig» in 2012, continuing his reputation for heartfelt, narrative-driven songwriting about love and longing. His follow-up album «Bawat Daan» arrived in 2015, further showcasing his warm vocal delivery and gift for intimate balladry alongside more upbeat rock numbers.

In 2020, Dancel released «Balik Tanaw», a compilation reimagining Sugarfree's most popular songs, bridging his solo identity with the band's legacy. Across both his group and solo work, songs like «Prom», «Huwag Ka Nang Umiyak» and «Halik Sa Hangin» remain touchstones of contemporary Filipino music, reflecting his consistent focus on emotionally resonant storytelling.
