Ебанько (Eban'ko)

Ебанько (Eban'ko) is a long-running Russian musical project known for crude, sexually explicit parody songs that rework pop, folk, and dance hits with absurdist, obscene lyrics. Emerging in the early 2000s, the group became a fixture of Russian internet humor culture, with their songs circulating widely on file-sharing sites and forums long before streaming platforms existed.

The project's output is defined by its shock-value humor rather than musical ambition: tracks lean on crude wordplay, taboo-breaking subject matter, and deliberately lo-fi production values that mimic the genres they lampoon, whether it is a chanson ballad, a club track, or a folk melody. Titles alone signal the tone, and the humor draws its power from the contrast between a familiar, often sentimental musical form and grotesquely explicit content.

Despite, or perhaps because of, its transgressive nature, Ебанько built a durable cult following in Russian-speaking online communities, releasing dozens of albums over two decades.
