About the artist
Duncan Laurence, born Duncan de Moor in the Netherlands in 1994, is a Dutch singer-songwriter who rose to international fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 for the Netherlands with his ballad «Arcade». The win marked the country's first Eurovision victory in over four decades and turned the song into a global streaming phenomenon that went on to chart across multiple countries long after the contest itself.
His music blends intimate, piano-driven songwriting with contemporary pop production, often exploring themes of vulnerability, identity, and heartbreak with an emotionally direct delivery. Following «Arcade», he released the EP «Worlds On Fire» and his debut album «Small Town Boy», which expanded on the EP's sound and was later reissued in a deluxe edition. His second album, «Skyboy», moved toward a more theatrical and expansive sonic palette compared to the more stripped-back, contemporary pop feel of his debut.
Since his Eurovision win, Duncan Laurence has continued to build a career beyond the contest, collaborating with other artists and performing internationally, while remaining known first and foremost for the song that launched him onto the world stage.
