Donny Osmond

Donny Osmond is an American singer, actor, and entertainer who rose to fame as a child performer with his family group The Osmonds before launching a hugely successful solo career in the early 1970s. Known for his boyish charm and clean-cut pop image, he became one of the era's premier teen idols with hits like «Puppy Love», «Go Away Little Girl», and «The Twelfth of Never».

Throughout the 1970s he also performed alongside his sister Marie Osmond, and the duo hosted their own popular television variety show, further cementing his status as a wholesome family entertainer. His sound blended bubblegum pop, orchestral balladry, and R&B-tinged vocal styling, appealing to a broad mainstream audience.

Osmond later reinvented himself as an adult contemporary and musical theater performer, notably starring in «Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat», and found renewed chart success in the late 1980s.
