D'Masiv

D'Masiv is an Indonesian rock band formed in Jakarta in 2003 that became one of the country's most commercially successful pop-rock acts during the late 2000s. Fronted by vocalist Rian Ekky Pradipta, the band built its reputation on emotionally direct, radio-friendly rock ballads with big choruses, a style that resonated strongly with mainstream Indonesian audiences and helped popularize a wave of similarly styled pop-rock bands in the country.

Their breakthrough came with «Cinta Ini Membunuhku», a ballad about heartbreak that became a defining hit of Indonesian rock radio and helped launch the band to national prominence. They followed it with a string of similarly anthemic singles, including «Jangan Menyerah» (a message of perseverance that became widely used as a motivational song in Indonesia), «Merindukanmu», and «Diantara Kalian», all built around soaring vocal melodies over polished, mid-tempo rock arrangements.

D'Masiv's sound sits within the broader Indonesian pop-rock tradition, prioritizing accessible melody and emotionally resonant lyrics over heavier or more experimental rock instincts. Their sustained run of hit singles through the 2010s made them a fixture of Indonesian music television and radio, and «Jangan Menyerah» in particular has endured as one of the most recognizable Indonesian rock songs of its era.
