DEAD BLONDE is a Russian pop/rave project built around a stylized female persona, created by producer David GSPD together with his wife Arina Bulanova, who performs as the project's face and voice. Emerging in the early 2020s, it belongs to a wave of Russian internet-native pop acts that mix nostalgic post-Soviet and 2000s aesthetics with modern hyperpop and dance-rap production.

The project's breakthrough came with the track «Мальчик на девятке», which unexpectedly went viral on TikTok and introduced DEAD BLONDE to a mass audience, followed by other catchy, meme-friendly hits like «Бесприданница» and «Банкомат». The sound leans on driving electronic beats, rap-influenced cadences, and deliberately campy, retro-tinged imagery drawn from Russian pop culture and criminal-chic tropes, exemplified by tracks like «Питер – город криминала».

As a largely internet-first act, DEAD BLONDE built its audience through short-form video platforms and social media rather than traditional promotion, reflecting a broader shift in how Russian-language pop acts reach listeners. Its playful, ironic take on retro Russian pop and rave culture has made it one of the more recognizable viral music phenomena of its scene.
