About the artist
De La Ghetto, born Rafael Castillo Torres, is a Puerto Rican reggaeton artist raised in San Juan after being born in New York. He first rose to prominence as one half of the duo Arcángel & De la Ghetto in the mid-2000s, appearing on numerous reggaeton compilations before the pair split and he launched a solo career.
His solo breakthrough came through singles like «Sensación Del Bloque», a collaboration with Randy Nota Loca, and «Tú Te Imaginas», both of which helped define his sound: streetwise reggaeton laced with melodic hooks, later expanding into trap and Latin pop-rap as those genres rose alongside reggaeton. His debut album, «Masacre Musical», released in 2008, charted on Billboard's Top Latin Albums.
Over the years De La Ghetto became known as a reliable hitmaker and collaborator across the reggaeton and Latin trap scenes, appearing on remixes and features that connected him to a wide network of artists in the genre. His catalog spans club anthems, romantic tracks, and remix culture staples like «Sé Que Quieres (Remix)» and «Deuces (Spanish Remix)», reflecting reggaeton's evolution from its 2000s roots into its more trap-influenced 2010s sound.
