D'Banj

D'Banj, born Oladapo Oyebanjo, is a Nigerian singer, rapper and entertainer who became one of the defining faces of the Afrobeats explosion of the 2000s and 2010s. Alongside producer Don Jazzy he co-founded Mo'Hits Records, a label that shaped modern Nigerian pop and launched acts such as Wande Coal and D'Prince before the pair went their separate ways. D'Banj's stage persona, the self-proclaimed «Kokomaster», built on brash charisma, playful boasting and a showman's stage presence that made him a fixture of Nigerian pop culture.

Musically he blends Afrobeat rhythms with pop, R&B and hip-hop, favoring hooky, party-ready choruses over dense lyricism.
