Davido, born David Adedeji Adeleke, is a Nigerian-American singer and record producer who became one of the leading global ambassadors of Afrobeats. Born in Atlanta and raised largely in Lagos, Nigeria, he emerged in the early 2010s with a sound that blends Afrobeats rhythms with pop, R&B, and hip-hop influences, helping carry the genre to international audiences.

He first broke through with tracks like «Dami Duro» and «If», the latter becoming a defining hit that showcased his knack for melodic hooks and dancefloor-ready production. Over the years his catalog has included collaborations spanning Afrobeats, R&B and pop, with songs like «Fall», «FIA», «Assurance» and «FEM» cementing his place as one of the genre’s most consistent hitmakers.

Beyond his solo work, Davido is a co-founder of HKN Music, a label that has supported other Nigerian artists, reflecting his role not just as a performer but as a figure helping build out the Afrobeats industry infrastructure.
