David Archuleta

David Archuleta is an American singer and songwriter born on December 28, 1990. He first gained attention as a child, winning a Utah talent competition and appearing on Star Search, before rising to national fame in 2008 as the runner-up on the seventh season of American Idol. His debut single, «Crush», became an immediate hit, and his self-titled debut album established him as one of the most commercially successful artists to emerge from the show.

Archuleta's music blends pop with R&B and electronic textures, built around his versatile, technically strong vocals. After his early commercial peak, he paused his career from 2012 to 2014 to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Chile, an experience that later shaped some of his more reflective and spiritually themed material.
