Darlene Zschech

Darlene Zschech is an Australian singer, songwriter, and worship leader who became one of the most influential figures in contemporary Christian music through her long association with Hillsong Church in Sydney. She rose to international prominence as the writer and lead voice of «Shout to the Lord», a song that became a modern worship standard sung in churches across the globe and helped define the sound of the Hillsong movement in the 1990s.

As a member and later leader of Hillsong Worship (formerly Hillsong United and Hillsong Music Australia), Zschech contributed to numerous live albums recorded in front of congregations, a format that became a hallmark of the Hillsong style — anthemic, emotionally direct, and built for communal singing.
