Daniel Seavey

Daniel Seavey, born April 2, 1999, first gained national attention as a fan-favorite contestant on the 14th season of American Idol, reaching the Top 9. A multi-instrumentalist proficient in piano, guitar, bass, drums and several strings, he went on to become a founding member of the pop boy band Why Don't We, alongside Jack Avery, Corbyn Besson, Jonah Marais and Zach Herron.

As the band's primary instrumentalist and a key songwriter, Seavey has contributed to hits such as «Something Different» and «Trust Fund Baby», and to the group's debut album «8 Letters», released in 2018. Why Don't We built a devoted following partly through fan-suggested mashups that showcased their harmonies and vocal range.

Beyond the band, Seavey has pursued a solo path with introspective, genre-blending songs like «Sleeping With The Lights On», «The Older You Get» and «Gateway Drug», moving fluidly between pop, rock and rap textures. His solo output tends toward more personal, diary-like songwriting than his work with Why Don't We.
