About the artist
Daisy the Great is a Brooklyn-based indie pop duo formed by Kelley Dugan and Mina Walker, who met as students at NYU's musical theater program before turning to songwriting. Their music is built on close, intertwined vocal harmonies, intimate and often quirky lyrical observations, and arrangements that move fluidly between stripped-down acoustic pop and warmer, fuller indie-pop production. That blend of theatrical sensibility and confessional songwriting has made them a distinctive voice within the wider wave of female-fronted indie pop acts.
The duo built a following with early singles and the breakout hit «The Record Player Song», which found renewed life online and helped introduce their sound to a much wider audience. Tracks like «Glitter», «Persephone» and «Friend» further showcase their knack for pairing playful, tactile lyrics with melodies that swing between whimsy and melancholy, often within the same song.
Daisy the Great has been noted for tapping into a broader current of women in pop leaning into vulnerability and emotional candor without losing a sense of humor, and their close vocal interplay remains the throughline across their catalog, from early EPs to later full-length work.
