d4vd, born David Anthony Burke on March 28, 2005, in Queens, New York, is an American singer-songwriter who rose to fame through bedroom-pop production made largely on his own devices. He began releasing music to soundtrack his own Fortnite montages, and his early tracks eventually caught the attention of the game's community, leading to an in-game emote built around his song «Feel It» and later an official Fortnite anthem, «Locked & Loaded».

His sound blends indie, R&B, hip-hop and rock textures with hazy, lo-fi production and melancholic, diary-like lyrics. He started uploading music to streaming platforms in November 2021, moving through early rap and indie experiments, including a drill-inspired mixtape called The Hoodstar Diary, before settling into the introspective alt-pop style that defined his breakthrough.

In July 2022 he released «Romantic Homicide» and «Here With Me», both of which spread rapidly online and pushed him into mainstream recognition; «Romantic Homicide» entered the Billboard Hot 100 within weeks. Since then he has continued to release genre-blending singles that showcase his versatility as one of the more distinctive young voices to emerge from internet-driven music culture.
