Cyndi Lauper, born Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper on June 22, 1953, in New York City, is an American singer, songwriter, and actress who became one of the defining pop stars of the 1980s. Her 1983 debut solo album «She's So Unusual» produced an unprecedented run of top-five hits, including the exuberant anthem «Girls Just Want to Have Fun» and the aching ballad «Time After Time», establishing her instantly recognizable voice and eccentric, colorful personal style as hallmarks of the era's MTV-driven pop culture.
