Cruel Youth

Cruel Youth is a project fronted by Teddy Sinclair, the artist better known under her earlier stage name Natalia Kills, alongside her husband Willy Moon. The pair write and produce the material together, occasionally bringing in collaborators, while Tina Hanäé and Lauren Stockner round out the live band on instruments. The project emerged in 2016 as a sharp turn from Sinclair's earlier pop career, trading polished chart production for something rawer and more confrontational.

Musically, Cruel Youth blends pop songwriting with rap cadences and R&B textures, often wrapped in a darker, more emotionally exposed aesthetic than Sinclair's prior work. Songs like «Mr. Watson» and «Diamond Days» introduced the project's moodier, hook-driven sound, while «Hatefuck» became one of its most talked-about singles, addressing a personal low point with unusual directness.

The project has continued to release singles over the years, including «Devil in Paradise», building a smaller but devoted following drawn to its confessional tone and genre-blurring approach.
